Private 4-Day Cultural Tour of Tuscia with Your Personal Guide and Driver
Explore the hidden gems of Tuscia on a fully private, tailor-made 4-day tour led by Eva Polino — renowned art historian, curator, and official guide — or by one of the expert members of her handpicked team. Your personal guide will also serve as your driver, picking you up directly from Rome or any other location across Lazio, Umbria, or Tuscany. On request, pick-up from Naples is also available.
This immersive experience takes you deep into one of Italy’s most enchanting and overlooked regions. Located in northern Lazio and rich in Etruscan, medieval, and Renaissance heritage, Tuscia offers volcanic lakes, UNESCO archaeological sites, and some of the most authentic villages in Italy — all far from the usual tourist circuits.
From day one, you’ll be guided by specialists in archaeology, art history, and local traditions. Visit the painted tombs of Tarquinia’s necropolis and its Renaissance-era archaeological museum. Wander through the stone streets of Tuscania, perched on volcanic cliffs, and admire Romanesque masterpieces like San Pietro and Santa Maria Maggiore.
Continue to Viterbo, where you’ll visit the medieval Palazzo dei Papi — the site of the world’s first papal conclave — and stroll the cobblestone alleys of San Pellegrino, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval quarters. On day three, dive into the grandeur of the Renaissance at Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and the gardens of Villa Lante in Bagnaia.
Your final day unfolds on the serene shores of Lake Bolsena. Explore the lakeside castle and its museum, visit the Collegiata di Santa Cristina — home to one of Italy’s Eucharistic miracles — and relax in the charming fishing towns of Marta and Capodimonte. Weather permitting, a boat ride to the lake’s volcanic islands can be added.
Every detail of this tour is custom-designed with you, and you can enrich your journey with optional experiences, including:
Hands-on workshops: from ceramics to medieval minting to tarot symbolism
Exclusive food and wine: tastings in boutique wineries, cooking classes in farmhouses or castles
Outdoor adventures: e-bike tours, hikes through Etruscan roads and reserves, seasonal paragliding
Family-friendly options: interactive museum tours, ancient games, storytelling sessions
Accommodations and meals are not included, but our team will help you select exceptional lodging and dining tailored to your budget and preferences — from rustic agriturismi to boutique hotels and authentic trattorias.
