About Eva

We are a family, not a formula
Slow Italy Travel was born from a simple truth: that the most meaningful journeys begin with people who love where they live.
Eva is an art historian, licensed guide, and cultural storyteller with a deep connection to Rome and Central Italy. With two degrees, years of curating personal tours, and a lifelong passion for beauty and meaning, she leads travelers beyond the surface — into the heart of places and stories often overlooked.
Together with Giuseppe, expert in Italian food traditions and founder of Rome Pizza and Pasta School, we’ve created something rare: a family-based travel project that welcomes you as a guest, not a number.
We live what we share. Every tour is handpicked, every partner personally known, every itinerary rooted in authenticity and slowness. No big groups, no rush, no performances. Just human connection, deep knowledge, and heartfelt hospitality.
We live in the countryside south of Rome with our children Manfredi and Tancredi, our dog Penny, and a love for simplicity, culture, and honest beauty. This project reflects our home, our pace, and our belief that real travel changes people — when it’s shared like a conversation, not sold like a product.

Organic Farms
We collaborate with small organic farms committed to sustainability, biodiversity, and the preservation of authentic Italian food culture.
Local Artisans
Meet authentic craftspeople and discover the beauty of Italy’s traditional know-how—ceramics, textiles, wood, and more.
Low-impact
Whenever possible, we choose sustainable transport options to reduce environmental impact and support local mobility.
🌿Eva Polino on Sustainable Travel
Eva Polino is not just a licensed guide — she’s a cultural bridge. With two degrees in art history and a deep love for Italy’s layered identity, Eva has spent years creating experiences that go beyond tourism. Her approach is rooted in respect: for people, for places, and for the stories that connect them.
At Slow Italy Travel, we believe that traveling slowly means traveling meaningfully. We don’t tick boxes. We don’t rush. We take the time to understand the soul of a place — through its food, its people, its silences, and its beauty.
Every experience is personal, never mass-produced. We choose to work only with local partners we know, support family-run projects, and avoid platforms that reduce people to ratings.
In fact, we don’t ask for reviews. Not because we fear judgment, but because we believe trust grows from real connection — not stars. We call it our No Reviews Philosophy: a small act of resistance, and a big act of care.
Travel, for us, is not about consuming.
It’s about being touched — and changed — by what you encounter.

Why we stepped away from stars, scores, and superficial ratings
In a world driven by stars and algorithms, we chose something different.
We believe that meaningful experiences should not be measured by numbers, but by memories — vivid, unrepeatable, deeply personal.
At the heart of our philosophy lies the idea that travel is a human exchange, not a transaction.
We don’t aim to impress strangers on the internet — we aim to connect with the people in front of us.
We guide fewer tours, spend more time, listen better, adapt deeply. That’s how friendships begin.
And friends don’t review each other — they share stories.
Our guests become part of our extended family. They don’t “rate” us. They remember us.
Some send postcards. Some return. Some write heartfelt emails. And some simply smile at the end, knowing something changed.
We don’t hide from feedback — we welcome it directly, with honesty and warmth.
But we step aside from the culture of “click & judge,” because we believe slow travel deserves slow trust.
This is not a marketing move. It’s a manifesto of authenticity.
If you need reviews to feel safe, we understand. But if you’re ready to travel differently — we’re here. With open hearts, and no stars.
